Below is a photo of a glow plug that has been "Cocked up with carbon". This heater was a Wabasto Air Top Evo 40. The installer that fitted this heater, who won't be named, over sized the heater required for the install in a professional van build. Unfortunately for the customer, this heater was way to big for the van meaning that the Evo 40 would heat the van up in minutes. The problem is that the diesel heater would not get up to temperature and therefore not get a clean combustion temperature. It's not about ''Bigger is better'', but correct heater sizing. In this instance a Webasto STC2000 2kw diesel blown air heater would have done the job.

Poorly fitted heaters will void the warranty period.
