Motorhome Frost Damaged Pipes Flojet Water System Pump

In January 2023 Mtec Project had a large number of Motorhome frost damage water pumps that are made by Flojet. My first question was, the Motorhome owner had not drained down pipes for winter? But the answer to the question was 'No, we drained the whole system down'. This was likewise in most cases.
After investigation it seems that the proper procedure hadn't been carried out.
In the Flojet instructions it states that the pump needs to be disconnected from the plumbing (section: System Care & Maintenance Paragraph 3.) this allows all water in the pump to be removed leaving the Flojet Xylem safe for winterisation.
Motorhome frost damage pipes is avoidable!
Warning! If water is left in these pumps and frost is present, a small amount of water in the pump can freeze and split the pressure switch at the bottom of the pump body.
As you can see, frost has broken the switch by the fixing screws.
